Utovlan tablets contain norethisterone, a synthetic form of the natural hormone progesterone. In the body, progesterone prepares and maintains the lining of the womb and helps regulate the monthly menstrual cycle.
By maintaining higher levels of progesterone, Utovlan keeps the womb lining stable. This prevents the usual hormonal drop that leads to menstruation, effectively delaying your period until you stop taking the tablets.
