Description
What is Vaniqa Cream?
Vaniqa is a prescription cream used to help manage unwanted facial hair growth in women. It doesn’t permanently remove hair, but it can noticeably slow down how quickly it grows back over time. It is commonly used on areas such as the upper lip, chin, and neck.
The active ingredient, eflornithine hydrochloride, works by targeting enzymes in the hair follicles that are responsible for stimulating hair growth.
How Does Vaniqa Work?
- New hair grows more slowly
- Existing hair becomes finer and less noticeable over time
- Continuous use may reduce overall hair regrowth significantly
How to Use Vaniqa Cream
- Clean and dry the area before application
- Apply a thin layer to the affected skin and gently rub it in
- Avoid washing the treated area for at least 4 hours afterwards
- Once fully absorbed, makeup and sunscreen can be applied as normal
- Wash your hands after each application
- Typical use: twice daily, at least 8 hours apart
- Use consistently for at least 8 weeks before expecting visible improvement
Who Should Not Use Vaniqa?
- Allergy to eflornithine hydrochloride or any cream ingredients
- Broken, irritated, or inflamed skin in the treatment area
- Pregnant or breastfeeding, unless specifically advised by a doctor
